Well, what happens if the ball does not go as far as it should have done and you felt you made a long enough swing? It could be that you did not hit it in the centre or sweetspot as we know it. Many short putts are also missed because of non centred strikes. Did you ever hit a putt and know straight away you’ve hit it badly and its missed. Ok we should accept a non centred strike with a driver which might be working its way around our body at 100mph but with a putter?!
Technically what might help?
Steady Body! You may see Howell, Harrington and Stenson with wide putting stances and this keeps the body steadier for sure.

Try this one: put your bum up against the wall and make a stroke. Did you feel your hips move?
Now try it again, this time with a really wide stance.did you feel your hips move?
This can take a little time to get used to but stick with it!
Drill
Hit some putts with the leading edge of your sand wedge, first from close to the hole and then move further back. When you get back to using the putter it will feel great!
