Welcome to the travel section!

My first exposure to travel was thanks to golf and I would have to say now its something I greatly enjoy. Without golf I feel I would not have got the chance to see and travel to the places I have been.

Its fitting therefore that the man who invited me to play my first overseas pro-am is our web-site travel partner Sean Skehan and Killester Travel.

Along with Sean and the team we provide trips to different destinations for golf and instructional schools combined (see testimonies).

Its my pleasure therefore to introduce to you Killester Travel and Sean Skehans world of golf.

“David and I have been friends for many years now and I am delighted with our association as golf travel partners. The overseas golf instruction trips combine great golf, instruction and travel.

Enjoy your travels,
Sean Skehan

Turnberry, Scotland

Turnberry, Scotland, May 2007

A short hop from Dublin or Shannon to Glasgow Prestwick will leave just a half hour to the Westin Turnberry Resort.  The amazing hotel overlooks the clubhouse and golf facilities on one of the British Isles' most famous links. Host to the British Open in 1986,1994 and due for 2008, the Ailsa course at Turnberry is terrific, while the Kintyre course is hugely underrated, as it too presents a fine challenge.

Clubhouse food is excellent if a little pricey, and if your shots are crooked you can always book in at the Colin Montgomerie Golf Academy for some tuition and practice at state of the art facilities. The hotel itself has a choice or restaurants and bars, and a swim or massage at the spa will aid recovery after a long day on the links.

Look out for some fantastic value packages toTurnberry in the off season (November - March) and when you get there be sure to book a caddy for further enjoyment of this piece of golfing heaven. My man was Richie who was as fine a caddy as I've ever had, and a nice young man to boot. Tell him I said hello!

Highs: Great facility, easy commute

Lows: Pricey in the busy season
