   Practice

As golfers we can spend hours practicing and sometimes we need to consider is it worthwhile? Are we improving?
If not, look at the type of practice you are doing.
Below are some examples;

Block Practice;

An approach where a proportion of time is spent on a single skill before moving on to the next skill. This is possibly the most common we see but according to the research not the most effective.

Random Practice;

In this practice, different skills are practised in random order for shorter periods of time. A little more like playing really.

Variable Practice;

We practice our 7 irons off a flat practice ground with a good lie but how many of these do we get on the course? Try some from longer grass or an uphill stance. See how it feels.

Whole Practice / Part Practice;

When we work on our swing are we working on just a part of it.
Rhythm or takeaway? Keep this in balance because they don’t hand out prizes for the player with the best takeaway!!

PAR 18;

A great game where you simualate game like conditions by setting up 9 up and downs around your clubs chipping green.
